Nxt Gen MBR Carburetor Instructions
We recommend using the tools included in the box.Removing the Jet Unit
(This is not required during normal maintenance. Only remove the jet unit when replacing it.)- Remove the screw from the jet size wheel using the supplied Torx screwdriver.
- Place the two black aluminum tools underneath the wheel, one on each side, and carefully press upward to lift the wheel off.
- Remove the two T10 M3 screws located beneath the wheel.
- Thread the M3 screw from the jet size wheel into the shaft to provide a better grip.
- Carefully pull the jet unit straight up and out.
Installing the Jet Unit
- Ensure that the small dot on the cylinder shaft is facing forward.
- Position the jet size wheel so that the smallest number faces toward the alignment mark on the rear of the carburetor.
- Apply a small amount of lubricant to the O-rings.
- Apply a small amount of Loctite® 243 (or an equivalent medium-strength thread locker) to the screws before installation.
Important – Nxt Gen Maintenance
Never remove the brass fuel pipe during normal carburetor maintenance. If it must be removed for any reason:
- Thoroughly clean the threads to remove all old Loctite®. This allows the fuel pipe to be threaded fully into place without resistance.
- Screw the fuel pipe in until it bottoms out.
- Once it reaches the bottom, tighten it no more than 2 minutes on a clock face. Do not overtighten.
Always apply Loctite® 243 (or an equivalent medium-strength thread locker) to the threads before reinstalling the fuel pipe.
Regular Maintenance
You do not need to remove the jet unit for routine cleaning. When cleaning the carburetor, use a PTFE lubricant spray for the best results. It can safely be applied to:
- Throttle slide
- Needle
- Bearings
- Other moving parts
Spray through the fuel pipe, then blow compressed air through it while ensuring that air passes through every jet.
Do not use brake cleaner.
Brake cleaner may damage the O-rings inside the jet unit.
Nxt Gen Settings
- Float height (carburetor upside down): 20–22 mm
- Float arm setting (measured with a dial indicator): 0.18–0.22 mm
- Start with a slightly larger main jet than you would normally use with the standard carburetor.
- Adjust the jet size up or down until you find the setting that provides the best performance.
